PROF. PENG FENG

PROF. PENG FENG

Professor Feng received his BEng degree and PhD degree from Tsinghua University in 2000 and 2005, and joined the Department of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University in 2005. His research field is the high‐performance structures with emerging materials and advanced construction techniques, including FRP structures, FRP strengthening, advanced concrete structures, and 3D printing for construction. He pioneered the FRP woven web structure, the FRP-confined concrete core for the concrete-filled square steel tubes and reinforced concrete columns, the combination of bamboo filling and FRP wrapping to strengthen steel members, CFRP-aluminum alloy hybrid tubes, kinked rebar for concrete beams and FRP sheets reinforced 3D printed structures. He has published more than 90 journal papers and has achieved about 2,100 citations by Google Scholar. He is the inventor of 15 patents and is the editor-in-chief of three Chinese National Standards on FRP. He has conducted several demonstration projects employed FRP in China. His contributions have been recognized by a number of awards/prizes, including two National Awards for Science and Technology Progress of China (a First Prize and a Second Prize), IIFC Fellow, Young Scholar of Chang Jiang Scholars Program by MOE of China, Excellent Young Scientists Fund by NSFC, Mao Yisheng Beijing Youth Science and Technology Award, Young Scientist Award by CSCM. He serves as the Executive Committee Member, Editor of FRP International, and Council Member of IIFC. He is the Associate Editor of the international journal Advances in Structural Engineering, the Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Composites for Construction.
